River House Coffee Co: Cozy Alexandria Bay Café with Artisan Coffees & Delightful Treats

Stopped in for a quick iced coffee, the baristas seemed very young. They greeted me as I walked in, answered my questions and were overall engaging. They explained that they have only been open for about 2 months or so. First impressions are they are a bit inexperienced when it comes to service and being the face of the company (based on the other reviews I was reading), same could be for the overall owners/managers. I believe this place has the potential to turn into THE spot. Outside of that, I ordered the strawberry white mocha iced latte and it was delicious, I do wish the syrup was mixed in but I've found not mixing it in is a common practice...but it was difficult to mix in because of the amount of ice. Recommend lighter on the ice or smaller ice chunks (think Sonic). It was also pretty expensive, with tip I paid $12 for an iced latte... The atmosphere was average, a bit industrial boho chic, seen that everywhere, so I suppose id attribute it as standard which is why I gave an average rating. The place was clean, overall id go back to try a pastery and another style of coffee. I also asked if the coffee was roasted in-house. The answer was no, sounds like they just brand coffee bags.

Nice coffee place that we walked to in Alex bay. Modern decor, clean & very nice people working there. We had delicious hot coffees, iced pumpkin spice & chai lattes. Stopped in 3 different times while we were in town. Also the blueberry cheesecake waffle stick & s'mores waffle stick were a hit!

While I haven’t had the chance to visit River House Coffee Co. just yet, I know the people behind it, and that alone gives me full confidence in what they’re building. The owners are some of the most hardworking, genuine, and community-focused people you’ll meet. Their passion for quality, hospitality, and creating a welcoming space shines through in everything they do. If the shop is even half as warm and well-run as the people running it, then it’s an easy 5 stars. Can’t wait to stop in soon and see it all for myself! In a world full of chain coffee spots, River House stands out as a place with real heart behind it. If you’re in Alex Bay, this is the kind of local business worth supporting - where the coffee’s made with care, and the people truly make it special.

What a great place to have coffee and breakfast! The service and coffee was Amazing, and the Nutella and Banana Waffle on a Stick was “The best thing…” our four year old daughter, “… ever had!” What a great start to our first day of vacation!

So glad to have this place nearby! Got a nice oat milk latte and enjoyed sitting in for a while. The vibe and decor reminds me of some cafes I’ve been to in Brooklyn.

I went two days in a row, the first day the young blonde didn’t acknowledge anyone in line, even as the line kept growing. Finally someone else came out to help and she was friendly and my iced latte with mocha was done up all nice with the mocha lining the cup. The second morning no one else was in the shop and the young blonde seemed a bit more friendly but she didn’t mix the mocha in my iced latte at all, it was just a big blob at the bottom of the cup. But overall it’s a cute spot, the lattes itself were good and the prices for the drinks were really reasonable! They do only have one option for iced drinks 24oz but I was fine with that. I didn’t try and food but that’s partly because the sandwiches seem very over priced, $15-$17, seems steep for what they were. But I would recommend stopping in! Oh and for those that care, they use Monin brand syrups!
